Press conference in Pula

The project The Heart of Istria, heritage and art, was presented at the press conference in Koper for the first time. The development of the cross – border itineraries in the urban and rural areas in Istria was approved by INTERREG III A, in the frame of Neighbourhood Programme Slovenia – Hungary – Croatia 2004 – 2006.

Mr. Vladimir Torbica, the project manager and a deputy head chief of the Administrative department for education, culture and sport, gave an opening speech giving the accent on the main project objectives, its target group and predicted activities. Manuela Horvatin an INTERREG project coordinator for the County of Istria, highlighted the importance of the project and necessity for future cross – border cooperation. PhD Darko Darovec, the principal at the University of Primorska, presented the Slovenian partner and its activities concerning the project implementation. Furthermore, Sandra Ilić, project coordinator, and PhD Aleksandar Panjek, project manager assistant, gave further details about the project The Heart of Istria, its objectives, purpose, activities and intentions. They also talked about project impact on cross – border cooperation, about the effects of the project final results and about project intent regarding the short term benefits to remain also in the long run. Special attention was given to support for analyses, collection and dissemination of results and promotional material so as to contribute towards supplementation of tourist offer what will enhance the development of new cultural itineraries in urban and rural regions in Istria.
